The tenth edition of the Monaco Marathon takes place Sunday, November 12, presenting its annual elite well-matched field consists mainly of East Africans and Eastern Europeans, who will be battling it out on the course notoriously difficult Mediterranean.

Last year’s second place at Monaco Marathon finisher Kenyan John Ngeny (OJ 02:15:09 – 2004) and Swedish record holder Lena Gavelin (OJ 02:30:39 – 2003), a top-20 finisher in World Cup 2003, respectively over rapid newcomers to the men and women races.
Monaco Marathon will run this year
Although none of the champions Monaco Marathon will run this year (John Kirui of Kenya, 2:19:08, and Alina Tecuta Gherasim Romania, 2:43:44), the 2006 competition to benefit both sets of the second and third end . In the men’s race, Ngeny will be joined by Russian Andrey Bryzgalov (OJ 02:17:43 – 2004), while their compatriots Yelena Kozhevnikova (2:39:54 – 2004) and Ludmilla Afoniouchkina (OJ 02:44:00 – 2004), small places on the podium of the women employed in 2005, also returns.
